(North American Meat Institute)

The Meat Institute, in partnership with the Beef Checkoff, presented its newest research at the Shopping for Health (SFH) Conference showing strong consumer preference for the term "prepared" over "processed" for meat products such as deli meats, hot dogs and sausages. For the general population, millennials and even SFH attendees, research was consistent that "prepared meat" is far more acceptable than "processed meat." Shopping for Health is an invitation-only conference for leading retail dietitians from around the country. The Meat Institute and Beef Checkoff were sponsors of the event and shared facts about prepared beef products, how they're made and regulated. In addition, attendees got to sample Beefshi recipes.
