Public Justice Food Project (PJFP), a legal advocacy organization, is expanding its legal staff in its effort toward "dismantling the systems that prop up industrial agriculture." The organization added senior attorney Brent Newell, who is a leading attorney on air pollution and climate change impacts, and pushed out a new website: https://food.publicjustice.net/, which provides resources for lawyers and local communities that are looking to sue "Big Ag." PJFP attorneys so far have been lead counsel in two cases involving independent beef producers versus multinational meatpackers, have led efforts to strike down state laws barring undercover investigations at agricultural facilities and have fought for clean drinking water for neighbors of poultry processing plants, among other legal pursuits.
