FNS Extends Comment Period for Its Proposal on SNAP Regulation Changes.

Monday, June 24, 2019

(North American Meat Institute)

The Food and Nutrition Service (FNS) in April 2019 proposed to make changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) regulations pertaining to the eligibility of certain SNAP retail food stores. When that proposal was published, FNS inadvertently excluded two supporting documents - the Regulatory Impact Analysis and the Regulatory Flexibility Analysis - to the proposed rule. For this reason, FNS has extended the comment period for the proposal until June 20, 2019. The Meat Institute submitted comments on the proposal. More information can be found here.
