The National Hot Dog and Sausage Council (NHDSC) estimates that baseball fans will consume more than 18 million hot dogs and nearly four million sausages during the 2019 Major League Baseball (MLB) season. Los Angeles Dodgers fans are once again projected to consume the most hot dogs, totaling more than 2.7 million, while Chicago Cubs fans follow in second with 1.2 million expected hot dog sales. The San Francisco Giants, meanwhile, will serve the most sausages this season, with 450,000 projected sales, with Cubs fans not far behind at 400,000 expected sausage sales. As in past years, the Brewers' Miller Park is the sole MLB venue where sausage sales will outpace hot dogs.
The NHDSC's annual MLB hot dog and sausage consumption survey generated significant media attention, with stories featured in The Takeout , WTOP and other outlets. The NHDSC also shared the results widely in social media.
The NHDSC updated its MLB Hot Dog and Sausage Guide , which features photos and descriptions of new and unique hot dog and sausage offerings at all 30 MLB stadiums, along with a sampling of classic favorites.
