The meeting, which will also be available via webcast, will feature a review of operations for the Committee members; an overview of the topics and questions the Committee will examine; presentations regarding the evidence-based approaches for reviewing the scientific evidence, including systematic reviews, data analyses and food pattern modeling analyses; and plans for future Committee work. Registration is required for both webcast and in-person participation, and is available here. Meat Institute staff will attend the meeting.
Meanwhile, the 2020 DGAC will be chaired by Barbara Schneeman, Ph.D., a former Food and Drug Administration official, and Ron Kleinman, M.D., chief physician at MassGeneral Hospital for Children, will serve as vice chair. USDA also announced that it has renamed the Nutrition Evidence Library to the Nutrition Evidence Systematic Review (NESR). NESR staff specialize in conducting food- and nutrition-related systematic reviews, which the DGAC use to evaluate the body of published scientific evidence.share on facebook share on twitter
