NAMI Announces Details for Two Additional Paid Education Sessions at 2019 IPPE

The Meat Institute announced details for two additional paid education programs at the 2019 International Production and Processing Expo (IPPE), scheduled to take place February 12-14, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Permit Required Confined Space- Train the Trainer workshop, scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on February 13-14, will provide safety managers, supervisors and other professionals with the information and tools they need to develop, implement and maintain an effective permit-required confined space entry program, and to train entrants, attendants and entry supervisors. Participants in this hands-on, two-day workshop will also analyze and discuss various confined space scenarios. Specific topics covered during the workshop include required disciplines, methodology meters, methodology retrieval systems, adult learning, preparation and delivery techniques, evaluation of effective training, identification of permit required/non permit required spaces, atmospheric hazards and ventilation.

Upon completion of the program, attendees will receive OSHA 29 CFR 1910.146 Permit Required Confined Space, Train the Trainer – 16-hour certification from Emergency Response Specialists, Inc. The course will be led by Bill Dennert, confined space instructor, Emergency Response Specialists, Inc., and Brandon Peterleus, lead confined space instructor, Emergency Response Specialists, Inc. The session costs $599 for registered IPPE attendees.

On Wednesday, February 13, NAMI will host a Competent Person Training for Fall Protection education session, from 8 a.m. to noon. Following this training workshop, participants will be certified to supervise, implement and monitor a managed fall protection program. Participants will review fall protection regulations, fall hazard elimination and control methods, fall hazard surveys and procedures and inspection protocols, among other pertinent topics. David Jewell, CSP, regional safety consultant, Conney Safety, will lead the session, which costs $150 for registered IPPE attendees.
