The Economic Research Service (ERS) projects fiscal year (FY) 2019 agricultural exports to reach $141.5 billion, representing a $1.9 billion decrease from FY 2018, largely driven by fewer exports of soybeans and cotton. ERS estimates FY 2019 U.S. agricultural imports to total $127 billion. The FY 2019 U.S. agricultural trade balance is forecast at $14.5 billion. In particular, livestock, dairy and poultry exports are projected to decline $200 million to $30.1 billion, as reductions in poultry and dairy exports offset increases in beef and pork exports.
