Trade Data Through May 2018 Now Available

The latest Trade and Market Statistics Report released by USDA and compiled by the Meat Institute presenting data through May 31, 2018, is now available . Beef and pork export volume and value were higher than a year ago. Beef export value increased 21 percent compared to 2017 levels, while pork export value rose six percent compared to the same period in 2017. Total beef export volume increased 10 percent compared to 2017, while total pork export volume rose three percent over 2017 levels. U.S. beef exports to China/Hong Kong rose 20 percent in volume and 47 percent in value compared to 2017, while beef exports to South Korea increased 34 percent in volume and 49 percent in value. In addition, U.S. pork exports to South Korea rose significantly compared to 2017 levels, increasing 44 percent in volume and 54 percent in value, respectively.
