Ross Testifies About Administration Trade Actions Before Senate Finance Committee

Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross last week underscored the Administration’s commitment to bolstering free trade and tempering escalating trade disputes in a hearing before the Senate Finance Committee. Senators, however, questioned recent Administration actions – including the imposition of steel and aluminum tariffs on key trading partners – and emphasized the impact of foreign retaliation, particularly on U.S. agriculture. In addition to discussing the worldwide steel and aluminum tariffs, Committee members and Ross addressed the Administration’s trade policies concerning China.
