The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) issued draft guidance regarding mitigation strategies to protect food against intentional adulteration. The guidance is intended to help food facilities that manufacture, process, pack or hold food develop and implement components of a food defense plan. The intentional adulteration rule applies to dual jurisdiction facilities that produce human food products. FDA is accepting public comments on the draft guidance through December 17, 2018.
