The U.S. House of Representatives last week failed to pass the Farm Bill in a 198-213 vote. Every Democrat voted against the measure, along with 30 Republicans. Many Republican lawmakers who opposed the bill are members of the House Freedom Caucus, and voted against the legislation over concerns about spending and immigration. House Republican leaders said they would delay a motion to reconsider the bill until a later date. The current Farm Bill expires September 30, 2018.
