Trade Data Through November 2017 Now Available

The latest Trade and Market Statistics Report released by USDA and compiled by the Meat Institute presenting data through November 30, 2017, is now available. Beef and pork export values were both above 2016 totals. Beef export value increased 15 percent compared to 2016 levels, while pork exports recorded their highest-ever monthly value, totaling $615 million in November. Total beef and pork export volumes also both increased seven percent compared to 2016 figures. U.S. beef exports to Japan showed significant growth, increasing 20 percent in volume and 27 percent in value compared to the same period in 2016. In addition, U.S. pork exports to Colombia and Chile rose markedly compared to 2016 levels, increasing 65 percent and 64 percent in volume, respectively.
