Two Meat Institute Staffers Promoted

Meat Institute President and CEO Barry Carpenter today announced that Eric Zito has been promoted to Vice President of Membership and Exposition Services and Michael Schumpp has been promoted to Director of Public Affairs and Member Communications.

Zito joined the Institute in 2006 and has served as the senior director of exposition and member services for NAMI. Zito earned a bachelor's of science in economics from The Pennsylvania State University Smeal College of Business.

Schumpp joined the Institute in 2014 and holds bachelor's and master's degrees in political science and political management from George Washington University. Previously, he worked in a public affairs firm in Washington, DC and at Winning Strategies Public Relations in Newark, N.J. He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Grassroots Professional Network.

"Both Eric and Michael are assets to our organization and we are pleased to recognize their dedication and abilities," said Carpenter said. "We look forward to their ongoing contributions to our organizational goals."
