Meat Institute Promotes Beef Book Playing Cards Ahead of Holiday Shopping Rush

The Meat Institute sent letters and sample decks of the Beef Book Playing Cards to editors at more than 45 publications, including GQ, Men's Health, Woman's Day, BuzzFeed and Food & Wine Magazine, to earn the cards a spot in some of this year's most prominent holiday gift guides. That Institute also distributed a press release both nationally and to targeted industry and foodservice editors as part of its promotion efforts. Furthermore, the cards were shared widely on Meat Institute social media channels.

Each deck includes 52 cards plus two jokers, featuring high quality images of the most popular cuts of beef. The cuts have been expertly selected from The Beef Book and the Meat Buyers Guide , the premier resources for beef cuts and information in North America. The four suits are comprised of loins, chucks, ribs, and rounds. The cards also include interesting historical facts about beef, as well as essential cooking and storage tips. The cards, which are a collaboration between the Meat Institute and Urner Barry, sell for $9.95 per deck, with discounts available for purchases of 10 decks or more.
