Trade Data Through September Now Available

The latest Trade and Market Statistics Report, released by USDA and compiled by the Meat Institute presenting data through September 2016, is now available. Total beef and pork export volumes increased compared to 2015 figures, while beef export value declined five percent and pork value rose two percent. Beef exports to South Korea remained strong, increasing 33 percent in volume and 17 percent in value compared to the same period in 2015. Pork exports to Hong Kong increased 67 percent in volume and 54 percent in value. Meanwhile, pork exports to Japan were down eight percent in volume and four percent in value, while exports to Mexico declined three percent in volume, but increased one percent in value.
