Meat Institute Elects Officers to Guide Organization in 2017Wednesday, October 12, 2016

Washington, D.C. – The North American Meat Institute (NAMI) announced the five new officers who will guide the organization in the next year. The officers were elected during the Institute’s Annual Meeting held September 27, in Washington, D.C.
Mike Townsley, president of Bob Evans Farms, Inc., will serve as chairman of the Board of Directors, while John Vatri, vice president of operations at Cardinal Meat Specialists, Ltd., will serve as vice chairman.
Sara Lilygren, executive vice president of corporate affairs for Tyson Foods, Inc., assumed the position of treasurer and Joe Maas, co-owner and vice president of operations at JTM Provisions, will be the new secretary. Brian Coelho, president of Central Valley Meat Co., will serve as immediate past chairman.
“I look forward to working with the new officers and the entire Board to respond to key industry priorities in the year ahead,” said NAMI President and CEO Barry Carpenter. “Their collective expertise will provide guidance to the Meat Institute and to the entire industry to ensure that we work together to advance our common interests and achieve our shared goals.”
