Trade Data Through July Now Available

The latest Trade and Market Statistics Report, released by USDA and compiled by the Meat Institute presenting data through July 2016, is now available. Total beef and pork export volumes increased compared to 2015 figures, while beef export value declined 10 percent and pork value fell two percent. Beef exports to South Korea remained strong, increasing 23 percent in volume and seven percent in value compared to the same period in 2015. Pork exports to Hong Kong increased 76 percent in volume and 60 percent in value. Meanwhile, pork exports to Japan were down 12 percent in volume and nine percent in value, while exports to Mexico declined seven percent in volume and five percent in value.
