Meat Institute Releases TPP Fact Sheet

NAMI released a one-page fact sheet detailing the benefits of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) for the meat and poultry industry. The fact sheet explains the importance of exports and expanded market access for the future growth of the meat and poultry industry, and discusses the trade benefits that will result from tariff reduction and elimination. The fact sheet specifically highlights the potential gains for meat and poultry trade in key markets, such as Japan and Vietnam, and touts the agreement's comprehensive chapter on sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) measures. Meat Institute members are encouraged to share this fact sheet and their support for TPP with their Congressional representatives during the August recess.
