Trade Data Through May Now Available

The latest Trade and Market Statistics Report, released by USDA and compiled by the Meat Institute presenting data through May 2016, is now available. Total beef and pork export volumes increased compared to 2015 figures, while beef export value declined 11 percent and pork value fell six percent. Beef exports to South Korea remained strong, increasing 26 percent in volume and five percent in value compared to the same period in 2015. Pork exports to Hong Kong increased 80 percent in volume and 61 percent in value. Meanwhile, pork exports to Japan were down 15 percent in volume and 13 percent in value, while exports to Mexico declined seven percent in volume and nine percent in value.
