Trade Data Through April Now Available

The latest Trade and Market Statistics Report, released by USDA and compiled by the Meat Institute presenting data through April 2016, is now available. Total beef and pork export volumes remained on pace with 2015 figures, while beef export value declined 13 percent and pork value fell nine percent. Beef exports to South Korea remained strong, increasing 17 percent in volume compared to the same period in 2015. Pork exports to Hong Kong increased 78 percent in volume and 54 percent in value. Meanwhile, pork exports to Japan were down 15 percent in volume and 11 percent in value, while exports to Mexico declined 10 percent in volume and 14 percent in value.
