(North American Meat Institute)The U.S. Coalition for TPP, to which belongs,
prepared letters to send to members of Congress
from all 50 states urging strong support for
the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement.
The letters, which have been customized with
state-specific export and employment data,
underscore the importance of ratifying the TPP
for the U.S. economy and to enhance the
competitiveness of American workers and
business in foreign markets.
Meanwhile, ministers from the 12 TPP countries will meet this week in Arequipa, Peru, in conjunction with the annual Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation trade ministers meeting. U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman will brief his counterparts on the outlook for Congressional approval of the pact and will receive details about the ongoing ratification processes in the remaining 11 countries.
