(North American Meat Institute)The latest trade and market statistics report is now available with data through February 2016. Beef and pork export volumes are both up slightly from 2015, though values are down 16 and 12 percent respectively. Beef export volumes to Korea and Hong Kong showed the largest increases or 28 and 18 percent, though value of each remained down from last year. Meanwhile the volume of beef exports to Mexico is down 18 percent with value down 28 percent. For pork, exports to Hong Kong are up 86 percent in volume and 50 percent in value while South Korea showed significant declines of 37 percent in volume and 51 percent in value.
