Nueske’s Applewood Smoked Meats Wins “Hold the Mustard” Award

Applewood Smoked Jalapeno Bacon Cheddar Bratwurst, made by Nueske’s Applewood Smoked Meats of Wittenberg, Wisconsin, won the “Hold the Mustard” Award at the North American Meat Institute’s (NAMI) 2016 Annual Sausage Fest held April 6 at the Meat Industry Management Conference in Chicago, Illinois. The Sausage Fest showcases various sausage and ready-to-eat products from Meat Institute member companies, and NAMI’s “Hold the Mustard” Award is presented annually to the winning product, which is selected by attendees in a blind taste-test based on popular vote. Other Meat Institute members competing in the event included Independent Meat/Falls Brand, Kayem Foods, Land O’ Frost/Wimmer’s, North Country Smokehouse and Salm Partners, LLC/Gilbert’s Craft Sausage.
