Japan’s Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries announced it is expanding access to Mexican pork exports after deeming the country free of classical swine fever. All Mexican states have been cleared to ship pork to Japan, which had restricted trade to Baja California, Chihuahua, Sinaloa, Sonora, Yucatan and Jalisco. Mexico ships approximately 70,000 tons of pork annually to Japan.
