Meat Institute Staff Attends 2016 Cattle Industry Convention

NAMI President and CEO Barry Carpenter and Senior Vice President of Legislative Affairs Pete Thomson attended the 2016 Cattle Industry Convention and National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA) Trade Show, held January 27-29, in San Diego, California. Carpenter reported on the status of NAMI check off contracts, and the CattleFax Outlook Session provided insights on market and general economic conditions impacting the cattle industry. NCBA members also elected new officers to guide the organization in the coming year. Tracy Brunner, a Kansas cattle producer, was selected to succeed Philip Ellis as president. Meanwhile, Anne Anderson will serve as the new chair of the Cattlemen’s Beef Board. The Cattle Industry Convention and NCBA Trade Show is the oldest and largest annual event for the cattle business.
