Meat Institute Hires Robin Cornelison; Michael Schumpp Promoted

Robin Cornelison today joins the Meat Institute as its new director of conference services and sponsorships. Cornelison has more than 14 years of meeting, tradeshow and marketing experience, and is a Certified Exhibition Manager. Cornelison most recently served as the director of trade shows at the International Dairy Foods Association (IDFA), where she oversaw all planning and operations for the organization’s main show and affiliate meetings. During her tenure, Cornelison successfully launched the NextGen Dairy Network to engage new members in IDFA and help the association evolve. Prior to joining IDFA, Cornelison worked at the National Association of Broadcasters, where she was involved in sponsorship and advertising.

Cornelison holds a degree in journalism from the University of Maryland, where she majored in advertising and received a minor in marketing. During her free time, Cornelison volunteers at Calvary Women’s Services to provide special events for underprivileged women.

The Meat Institute also announced the promotion of Michael Schumpp to senior manager of public affairs and member communications. As part of Schumpp’s role in support of NAMI’s public affairs efforts, he leads the development and delivery of the Lean Trimmings newsletter each week. Schumpp most recently served as NAMI’s manager of public affairs and member communications, and was previously the American Meat Institute’s legislative and public affairs coordinator.
