Meat Institute Social Media Continued to Grow in 2015

NAMI’s variety of social media tools continued their rapid growth in 2015. On twitter, @MeatInstitute gained more than 1600 new followers and now has more than 8200. The Meat Facebook page grew by more than 2000 fans during the year and starts 2016 with more than 24,300, while theNational Hot Dog and Sausage Council Facebook page also grew by more than 2000 to 13,400+ fans. The Meat News Network YouTube channel reached a new viewership high, with more than 621,000 views in 2015. That figure represents 150,000 more video views on the channel than in 2014. The Glass Walls video series featuring tours of beef, pork and turkey slaughter plants as well as other production methods such as how hot dogs, bacon and ground beef are made remain the most popular videos, with more than 1.5 million total views. The Meat Institute will continue to work to grow the various social media tools and members are encouraged to follow and share NAMI posts.
