USMEF Announces New Officers

The U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF) announced its new officer team, which was elected during the organization’s annual Strategic Planning Conference held November 4-6 in Tucson, Arizona. Roel Andriessen, head of the International Sales Group of Tyson Fresh Meats, is the new USMEF chairman, succeeding Leann Saunders, president of Where Food Comes From. Bruce Schmoll, a soybean and corn producer from Claremont, Minnesota, is the new USMEF chair-elect and Dennis Stiffler, Ph.D., chief executive officer of Mountain States Rosen, will serve as USMEF’s vice chair. Conley Nelson, general manager of Smithfield Foods’ hog production division in the company’s five-state Midwest region, will serve as the new secretary-treasurer.
