FSIS Issues Notice Providing Additional Instructions on HACCP Training

The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) issued Notice 68-15 , Additional Instructions for Attending a Training Webinar on Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) Systems Validation. As described in Notice 66-15 , Instructions for Training on the Final HACCP Systems Validation Guidelines, this notice provides additional instructions to inspection program personnel (IPP) and supervisory personnel to complete training on HACCP System Validation by either attending a live webinar or watching a pre-recorded training session available on the internet or on DVD. IPP and supervisory personnel are to complete training during their tour of duty and are to complete the training by December 18, 2015. This notice contains additional instructions for attending a webinar, which is one way to obtain training. FSIS is providing six training webinars on HACCP Systems Validation. FSIS will not begin verifying whether large establishments meet all validation requirements, including maintaining in-plant validation data, until January 4, 2016, and will not begin verifying whether small and very small establishment meet all validation requirements until April 4, 2016.
