FDA to Host Public Meeting on FSMA Final Rules for Preventive Controls in Human and Animal Food

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) will hold a public meeting today, October 20, 2015, to discuss the final rules on preventive controls for human and animal foods under the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). The meeting also will provide an opportunity to discuss FDA's planning effort for the next phase of FSMA implementation, which involves establishing new public health prevention measures and a risk-based industry accountability framework. The meeting will be held at the Chicago Marriott Downtown Magnificent Mile, and will be available via live webcast.
