Meat Institute to Host HACCP Validation Compliance Workshop at 2016 IPPEWednesday, October 21, 2015

The Meat Institute will host the "Achieving FSIS HACCP Validation Workshop" at the 2016 International Production and Processing Expo (IPPE), scheduled to take place January 26-28, 2016, at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta, Georgia. The four-hour session will address effective ways small and very small plants can comply with the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point Validation Guidance by the April 4, 2016 deadline. Attendees will learn about strategies to meet FSIS expectations for both scientific support and in-plant validation-two areas that are the focus of the compliance guidelines. The session will feature presentations from Dr. Kerri Gehring, associate professor, Texas A&M; University, and president and CEO, International HACCP Alliance; Dr. Margaret Hardin, vice president, technical services, IEH Laboratories and Consulting Group; Dr. Ilene Arnold, senior staff ffficer, FSIS; and Bob Savage, president, HACCP Consulting Group. The workshop is $150 for all registered IPPE attendees and will take place January 26, 2016, from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m.
