The Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) issued an update regarding the Government of Kuwait's implementation of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) Guide for Control on Imported Foods. FAS announced that despite claims from local Kuwaiti distributors, the country continues to accept current U.S.-issued health certificates for imports from U.S. companies. Certain distributors have instead required U.S. companies to obtain new GCC health certificates. U.S. companies that experience disruptions in trade due to misinformation from their local distributors are encouraged to contact Joanna Brown, international economist at FAS, at Joanna.firstname.lastname@example.org with information on the product, value of the shipment and contact details for the company's Kuwaiti distributor.
