The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) released a report outlining progress made at the recent Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) ministerial meeting in Maui, Hawaii. The report details the progress made in the areas of financial services, state-owned enterprises, legal issues and intellectual property rights, and in addressing trade barriers covering industrial goods, agriculture and textiles. USTR also stated negotiators took significant steps toward completing an investment chapter, which ensures Americans do not face unfair discrimination when conducting business abroad.
