AMS Announces Lamb Bonus Solicitation

The Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is inviting bids to purchase surplus frozen lamb products for use in Federal Food and Nutrition Assistance Programs. Bids are due by 1:00 p.m. CT on September 16, 2015, and accepted vendors will be notified by midnight, September 23, 2015. All potential vendors must have an Animal Handling and Welfare program approved by AMS in order to submit a bid. Lamb products must have been produced using previously frozen commercial stockpiles of lamb cuts or current fresh chilled lamb cuts. Finished product derived from cuts that have been previously frozen may not be comingled with finished product derived from fresh chilled cuts.
