The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) added Lithuania to the list of countries eligible to export meat and meat products to the U.S. FSIS determined Lithuania's laws, regulations and inspection system are equivalent to the Federal Meat Inspection Act and to the U.S. food safety system for meat and meat products. Certified Lithuanian establishments can now export meat slaughtered and processed from cattle, sheep, swine and goats. Lithuania may export meat to the U.S. beginning October 30, 2015, and all products will be subject to reinspection at U.S. ports of entry.
