Meat Institute Staff Visits Member Plants

Meat Institute staff as well as President and CEO Barry Carpenter last Tuesday visited two member plants in Pennsylvania . Staff received an inside look at a cattle slaughter operation at a JBS plant in Souderton, Pennsylvania, prior to proceeding to a hog slaughter facility at Clemens Foods Group in Hatfield, Pennsylvania. The tours offered an opportunity to view and learn more about food production practices first-hand, providing insight on ways animals are raised, slaughtered and processed for food. Both companies emphasized the industry's commitment to its employees and its customers, and explained steps they take to ensure the production of safe, wholesome and nutritious products. NAMI welcomes the opportunity to visit additional member plants across the country.
