The latest Trade and Market Statistics Report with data through June 2015 is now available. Total beef export volume is down 10 percent compared to the same period in 2014, while total beef export value remains unchanged for the same period in 2014. Pork export values and volumes are both below 2014 totals. The data reveal that beef exports to South Korea remained strong, increasing eight percent in volume and 12 percent in value compared to the same period in 2014. Pork exports to South Korea also showed significant growth from January to June, increasing 40 percent in volume and 34 percent in value, despite the overall decline in pork export numbers. Meanwhile, pork exports to mainstay destinations Japan and Mexico slipped in June. Exports to Japan were down 13 percent in volume and 20 percent in value from January through June, while export value to Mexico fell 18 percent. Exports to Mexico, however, remained six percent ahead of last year's pace.
