NAMI Staff Attend 2015 IAFP Conference

Meat Institute Vice President of Scientific Affairs Betsy Booren, Ph.D., and Vice President of Regulatory Affairs Scott Goltry attended the 2015 International Association for Food Protection (IAFP) Conference held July 25-28 in Portland, Oregon. The annual IAFP Conference provides an overview of the latest science and technology regarding food safety, and addresses issues related to foodborne pathogens, risk assessment, allergens, food laws and regulations and food toxicology, among others. Goltry also presented during a panel on the National Residue Program for Meat, Poultry and Egg Products, in which he provided an overview of livestock packer programs to address violative chemical residues, discussed the role of collaboration in the supply chain and highlighted industry successes while outlining opportunities for continued improvement.
