TPP Talks Set for End of July

The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative announced that the U.S. will host a meeting of Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) Trade Ministers in Maui, Hawaii, July 28-31, preceded by a meeting of TPP Chief Negotiators scheduled to take place July 24-27.

Meanwhile, Secretary of Commerce Penny Pritzker outlined measures currently in place to support American businesses once TPP negotiations are completed. Pritzker stated that the Commerce Department has more than 100 U.S. Export Assistance Centers across the country that can provide counseling to businesses and introduce firms to overseas buyers and distributors. Pritzker also noted that there are more than 170 foreign commercial service professionals located in the 11 TPP partner countries ready to offer on-the-ground assistance to American companies seeking to navigate the new export markets.
