NHDSC Launches Hot Dog Month Celebration Promotion Efforts

The National Hot Dog and Sausage Council (NHDSC) kicked off July's National Hot Dog Month highlighting July 4th as biggest hot dog weekend of the year and generated extensive media coverage over weekend. The NHDSC was interviewed by more than a dozen media outlets including CNBC, the New York Post and radio stations in markets such as Los Angeles, Detroit, Minneapolis and Hartford, as well as nationally on NBC Sports Radio and in many smaller markets. Altogether, stories mentioning NHDSC materials or data appeared in more than 1100 outlets nationwide.

The NHDSC is also holding a bumper sticker slogan contest . Hot dog fans are encouraged to send creative slogan ideas to contest@hot-dog.org by July 10. The best submissions will be featured as finalists on the NHDSC Facebook page , where fans will choose their favorite slogan. The winner will be announced on National Hot Dog Day, July 22, and will receive a $100 gift card for their favorite hot dogs plus a curl-a-dog spiral hot dog cutter . Second place will win a $50 gift card for their favorite hot dogs, while the top three choices will each receive NHDSC t-shirts and a bumper sticker with the winning slogan.
