Meat Institute President and CEO Featured in Meatingplace

Meat Institute President and CEO Barry Carpenter was featured on the cover of the May issue of Meatingplace magazine. Carpenter also received a multi-page spread , in which he offered insights on the current state of the meat industry and the new North American Meat Institute. Meanwhile, Carpenter shared his perspective on a host of key issues facing the industry, including the Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee report, the International Agency for Research on Cancer's potential listing of red meat as a carcinogen and country-of-origin labeling, among other topics. Carpenter noted that some of the top priorities moving forward include focusing on the image of both the industry and the products it produces, particularly related to the healthfulness of those products.
