Resources Available to Combat Antibiotics Misinformation

The Meat Institute has several resources available to address common myths and misconceptions about antibiotic use in livestock and poultry, and the impact of this usage on meat and poultry products. These include a referenced Q&A; " Facts About Antibiotics in Livestock and Poultry Production ," a media focused mythcrusher document addressing common errors seen in media coverage, as well as six Meat Mythcrusher videos discussing common myths about antibiotic use. With a recent uptick in media coverage on the issue, public affairs staff have also been actively connecting with reporters to provide accurate information on antibiotics and correcting misinformation in media stories, including recent outreach to the Washington Post, Marketwatch and local news outlets.
