Meat Industry Management Conference to Feature Popular Sausage Fest Competition

The Meat Institute will once again host its popular Sausage Fest during the Meat Industry Management Conference, scheduled to take place April 15-18, 2015, in Carlsbad, California. The Sausage Fest, which will be held from 6-7 p.m. on April 16, will feature sausages and ready-to-eat (RTE) products in competition to earn the annual “Hold the Mustard” award. Participating organizations include Bar-S Foods, Independent Meat Company, North Country Smokehouse, Nueske’s Applewood Smoked Meats and Salm Partners. All NAMI members that produce sausage or other RTE products will receive complimentary entry to the Sausage Fest, and attendees will judge the products in a blind taste test. Conference registration remains open and rates are now $595 per person or $495 per person when three or more individuals from the same member company register. The conference will feature education sessions covering an array of topics, including food safety, government regulations, economics, communications and workforce issues.
