FDA to Hold Public Meeting on FSMA Implementation Strategy

FDA will hold a public meeting April 23-24, 2015, entitled, "FDA Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA): Focus on Implementation Strategy for Prevention-Oriented Food Safety Standards." The meeting, which will be held at the Washington Marriott at Metro Center in Washington, DC, will provide an opportunity to learn about and discuss FDA's current planning efforts for the next phase of FSMA implementation, which involves instituting the Act's core prevention and risk-based safety standards. FDA will share current thinking on operational strategies for implementing the new standards that will affect food and feed facilities, farmers, importers and other food suppliers. The meeting will feature several issue-specific breakout sessions, as well as an open comment and question and answer period. Attendees are encouraged to register in advance of the meeting. A live webcast also will be offered for individuals who cannot attend in person.
