Webcast on Improved Method for Attributing Foodborne Illness Now Available

The Interagency Food Safety Analytics Collaboration (IFSAC) posted a webcast recording and related materials from its public meeting held on Februay 24, 2015, during which it provided an overview of a new method for analyzing outbreak data to determine the most common food sources responsible for Salmonella, E. coli O157, Listeria monocytogenes (L.m.) and Campylobacter . IFSAC recently released a report that detailed the new method to improve foodborne illness source attribution and discussed findings related to the type of food most closley associated with these four pathogens. IFSAC is a joint Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), FDA, and USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) collaboration aimed at improving coordination of federal food safety analytic efforts and addressing cross-cutting priorities for food safety data collection, analysis and use.
