FDA Publishes Nutrition Labeling Guidance for Small Entities

FDA released guidance explaining the actions small entities must take to comply with a final rule requiring nutrition labeling of standard menu items in restaurants and similar retail food establishments. The guidance outlines the establishments and food covered by the final rule, and information regarding menu labeling and formatting requirements. The guidance also describes the process by which establishments may voluntarily register to be subject to the rule's requirements. The public is invited to submit to FDA either written or electronic comments in response to this guidance.
