USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) published a compliance guide describing its failure-to-present (FTP) and prior notification requirements in an effort to assist importers and customs brokers. The guide explains FSIS' approach to the implementation of policy changes related to import regulations requirements. FSIS requires all imported meat, poultry or egg products to be presented for reinspection upon entry into the U.S. The guide also provides answers to commonly asked questions by importers and brokers of meat, poultry and egg products.
