Susan Mayne Takes Over as New CFSAN Director

Susan T. Mayne, Ph.D., has officially assumed the role of director for FDA's Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN), replacing Michael Landa, who retired last year. Prior to joining FDA, Mayne served as the C.-E.A. Winslow Professor of Epidemiology and chair of the Department of Chronic Disease Epidemiology at Yale School of Public Health, as well as the associate director of the Yale Cancer Center. Mayne's research has focused on the complex role of food, nutrition and health behaviors as determinants of chronic disease risk. She is also the author or co-author of more than 200 scientific publications.
