USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) issued a notice updating instructions for Food Safety Assessment (FSA) entrance meetings and reissuing the instructions in FSIS Notice 63-13, "Public Health Regulations for Use in Scheduling Food Safety Assessments." The notice also informs Enforcement Investigations and Analysis Officers (EIAOs) and inspection program personnel (IPP) of the Fiscal Year 2015 Public Health Regulations ; provides guidance to EIAOs regarding ways to discuss this updated approach with establishment management during FSA entrance meetings; and instructs IPP on the methods FSIS uses to determine noncompliance records (NR) rates. The notice is a supplement to FSIS PHIS Directive 5100.4 , "Prioritized Scheduling of FSAs using the Public Health Information System."
