AMS Seeks Input on Developing New Beef Checkoff ProgramMonday, November 10, 2014
(American Meat Institute)
USDA's Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) is seeking public input to guide its development of a new beef checkoff program. The new order would be in addition to the existing beef checkoff program. The new program would increase the $1 per-head-of-cattle per producer, which has remained the same since the checkoff program was originally created in 1985.
AMS is asking interested parties to provide their views concerning provisions that would be included in the new order, including questions such as who should be assessed, what the board structure should be and how the board should be selected. Comments are due by December 10, 2014.share on facebook share on twitter
